About the Medical Toxicology Foundation (MTF)

The Medical Toxicology Foundation (MTF), is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization established by ACMT in 2009. The MTF provides multiple opportunities for to further education and training in medical toxicology through travel awards to ACMT’s Annual Scientific Meeting, research grants, and educational opportunities such as a fellowship rotation in industry program, and collaborations with other medical associations.

About the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT)

Founded in 1993, the American College of Medical Toxicology (ACMT) is a professional, nonprofit member association, and the primary organization that serves Medical Toxicologists. About Medical Toxicology

Medical Toxicology is a field of medicine dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of poisoned patients. This also includes adverse health effects of medications, occupational and environmental toxins, and biological agents. The Value of Medical Toxicology

The field of medical toxicology connects specialty knowledge obtained through research and practice to people exposed to harmful chemicals, environmental hazards, and natural toxins and/or to those dealing with drug abuse or addiction issues. Although they play diverse roles and serve in many different sectors, medical toxicologists often specialize in emergency medicine, pediatrics and/or occupational medicine.

Donors, private foundations, and corporations contribute to the MTF via an annual fund, major gifts, grants, and other channels to fund research, education, and practice programs/initiatives.
