Dr. Wax is the Executive Director of the American College of Medical Toxicology. He received his B.A from Dartmouth College, his M.D. from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, his Emergency Medicine training at the UCLA Hospitals, and his Medical Toxicology training at Bellevue Medicine Center / New York University. He is Board-certified in both Medical Toxicology and Emergency Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Toxicology.

Along with his full time position as the Executive Director of ACMT, Dr. Wax is an Adjunct Professor in Emergency Medicine (Medical Toxicology) at UT Southwestern School of Medicine where he has been on faculty since 2006. Previously Dr. Wax had faculty appointments in the Departments of Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine from 1991-2001 and the University of Arizona School of Medicine from 2001-2006. Dr. Wax previously served on the Board of Directors of ACMT from 1998-2008 serving as ACMT President from 2006-2008. From 1997-2006 Dr. Wax also served as one of the American Board of Emergency Medicine’s appointee’s on the Medical Toxicology Subboard. During this time Dr. Wax served as Editor of the Medical Toxicology Board Certification Examination as well as Chairman of the Subboard, and was also the primary author of the 2004 Core Content of Medical Toxicology.

Dr. Wax who became ACMT’s first Executive Director in 2008 has directed over $10,000,000 in federally funded programs for ACMT, and, as of 2021, is directing ACMT programs funded by NIH, FDA, CDC and SAMHSA. Dr. Wax is the Co-Principal Investigator of ACMT’s Toxicology Investigators Consortium (ToxIC), a 35 site multicenter research program, and is the author of more than 100 peer reviewed publications. In 2019 Dr. Wax was honored with ACMT’s Career Achievement award.

Alex holds a diversified expertise in public/private organizations, including in project execution, social enterprise and non-profit finance, human resources and leadership/career development. She began her career as the Senior Program Assistant at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Israel, where she worked inter-departmentally on the program and in finance and human resources. While she worked on a number of initiatives, she spent her last year collecting the data, developing and implementing the first directly implemented UNHCR Israel community development program which focused on reducing the incidence of domestic violence within the asylum seeker and refugee communities in Tel Aviv, Ashdod, Arad and Eilat. . She worked closely with the Israeli Ministry of Health, Welfare, the police and the refugee and asylum seeker community.

After 5 years in Israel, having identified the need for more public finance and management professionals, Alex moved to New Orleans where she worked as a Program Manager at Tulane University while completing her MBA. Upon completion, she worked remotely for several years as a Project Finance Manager at Dimagi, Inc, an international social enterprise and as a Consultant in Leadership Development for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Alex holds a MBA from Tulane University and a BA in International Studies from the School of International Service at American University. She currently resides in New Orleans where she spends time seeing music and being with her family.

Singa joined ACMT in March 2022. She has broad experience working with nonprofit organizations including a cancer research foundation in California, a professional association for realtors in Austin, and a funders network addressing reproductive health, rights, and justice in the United States and around the world . She received a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and a MPA (with a concentration in nonprofit management) from the University of Southern California. She currently resides in Austin, TX, with her husband and two sons.

Sarah joined ACMT in November of 2021, with over 12 years of executive, administrative and council member assisting under her belt. Sarah graduated in 2008 with her BS in Merchandising Business with a minor in Public Relations from Northern Arizona University. She has also earned a Certificate in Ayurvedic Wellness Coaching in 2021.

Sarah volunteers with a local non-profit making sure young women have the resources and materials they need for their reproductive health. In her free time, she hangs out with her husband Nick and 3 cats, yes 3; Dexter, Deb and Astor while watching sitcoms or a sports event. She also enjoys reading, writing and doing yoga and barre workouts.

Jenn joined ACMT in May of 2022. She has over 9+ years of experience working in various associations. Jenn has a BS in Social Sciences with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland University College. 

Mimi joined ACMT in April of 2023. She has over 15 years of progressive experience working in non-profit development, establishing successful corporate partnerships, and expanding fundraising opportunities with foundations and other donors. Mimi is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, lives in west suburban Chicago, and has two adult sons.

Dana is a Senior Program Manager at ACMT. She contributes her expertise to a range of ACMT endeavors, including managing ACMT’s security and preparedness toxicology education and training programs, and researching and writing grant proposals. She is particularly interested in community-based environmental justice initiatives, efforts to reduce health disparities, and the science of survey development.

Dana received her MPH from the Department of Health Behavior at the University of North Carolina and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Prior to earning an MPH, she completed both a BA and an MA in Russian and Eurasian studies, and coordinated a Brooklyn-based NIH Fogarty AIDS International Training and Research Program grant, which focused on building HIV/infectious disease research capacity in multiple countries of the Former Soviet Union. Despite her global background, she has contributed to a number of projects focused on domestic public health issues, including intimate partner and sexual violence prevention, smoking cessation, prevention of injury from opioid misuse, and women’s and adolescent health promotion. Dana is originally from northeastern Ohio, but so far her life has taken her to quite interesting places all over the map. At present, she is happy to call North Carolina her home.

Adrienne joined ACMT in 2016. She has a BA in History from the University of Kansas and an MA from Columbia University in Russian Studies. She has over 15+ years of experience in program management and event coordination, organizing conferences and high-profile diplomatic visits in the US and Europe. She was an Eesti-Eurasia Public Service Summer Fellow at the American Chamber of Commerce (Tbilisi, Georgia), a Program Officer at the Project on Ethnic Relations (Princeton, NJ), and a Recruiter for an international exchange program with American Councils for International Education (Belgrade, Serbia). Prior to joining ACMT, she was an Outreach Coordinator at the University of Kansas, developing educational programming in support of KU’s Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies.

Adrienne is a World War I history enthusiast, developing nationally-recognized projects to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the war, 2014-2018. In her spare time she likes to stay active with her local city government, coordinating “friends of parks” activities. She lives in Lawrence, Kansas with her husband and daughter. 

Lucinda joined ACMT in May of 2022. Her experience and expertise come from years of working in higher education and student affairs, where she has earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Studies at the University of Rhode Island, and her masters in Business Administration at Washington State University.

Jessica joined ACMT in March of 2020. She has broad expertise with graphic and web design, copy-editing and layout, video editing, and producing content for print, digital, and social media. Since 2006 Jessica has served a wide array of clients as a freelance web and graphic designer. She worked with three International Area Studies Centers at the University of Kansas in a similar capacity from 2009-2020.

Alex joined ACMT in October 2020. She is a graduate from Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Creative Writing and History. While there she gained working experience in digital marketing, copywriting, and graphic design across a variety of industries. In addition to her work at ACMT, she pursues her passion for creative writing and is in the process of writing her first novel. Alex is from Pennsylvania and currently resides outside of Philadelphia.

Stephanie Abston joined the Toxicology Investigators Consortium/ACMT in October 2020.  Prior to working with ToxIC, she obtained her BSN from the University of Alabama. She has over a decade of combined public health nursing and clinical research experience.

Stephanie has become an integral liaison for research teams and investigators at participating institutions. In addition, she provides support for the initiation of new multi-center projects, ensures that research is conducted in compliance with the study protocol, and assists with the processing of contractual agreements.

Dr. Aldy initially joined the Toxicology Investigators Consortium with the American College of Medical Toxicology as the first ToxIC intern, where she led a vaping initiative around the country. In her new position with ToxIC, Dr. Aldy is responsible for the day to day management of the ToxIC program, staff and site coordination, helping with research projects and publications, and acquiring support for ToxIC through grants and related activities.

Dr. Aldy earned her medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. During her medical school training, she concurrently applied and enrolled in an MBA program with concentration in Health Management at the University of North Texas which she attained shortly after starting residency. She completed an emergency medicine residency at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She attended her Medical Toxicology Fellowship at University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. 

Dr. Aldy has an academic and clinical affiliation within the departments of Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Sharan Campleman is an environmental toxicologist with research and project management experience in the public and private sectors, including over ten years as a regional epidemiologist, researcher, certified tumor registrar and medical data specialist at the California Cancer Registry and Westat (Rockville, MD). In addition, as a Project Manager and Environmental Health Scientist at the Electric Power Research Institute, her research focused on the health effects of trace metals and organics; the assessment of effects related to mixed chemical exposures; cumulative risk assessment; and, the development and utilization dose-response models for quantifying risk at low exposure levels.

Sharan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT).  She received a Ph.D. and M.P.H. in Environmental Health Sciences (emphasis in toxicology) from the University of California at Berkeley, followed by post-doctoral training in environmental epidemiology as a fellow with the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), Air Toxicology and Epidemiology Section.  Previously, she attended the University of California at Davis, obtaining a B.S. in Food Biochemistry and a M.S. in Food Science (Chemistry)

Mari joined the Toxicology Investigators Consortium/ACMT in 2023. She received her MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of California, Berkeley. Mari has several years of research experience from assisting on studies at UCSF School of Medicine, Stanford University, and UC Berkeley. Now serving as a Clinical Research Manager for ToxIC, Mari supports the Core Registry’s multiple projects, including managing administrative details, data analysis, and engaging with participating sites to strengthen their involvement in ToxIC.

Rachel joined the Toxicology Investigators Consortium/ACMT in May 2022. Rachel received her PhD and MPH in epidemiology and biostatistics from Georgia State University. She also was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Respiratory Therapy at Georgia State University from 2019-2022, where she taught undergraduate and graduate-level research methods and clinical supervision for respiratory therapy students. She has conducted multiple research projects on substance use and health disparities through internal and external grants. She’s worked with substance use disorders in both the U.S. and internationally. 

Rachel serves as the Research Director for ToxIC, leading new grants, research projects, and data analyses for papers and presentations. She currently resides in Atlanta with her daughter and husband. 

Shao joined ACMT in 2018 as Quality Assurance Associate with ToxIC Registry program. He received his MPH in Health Promotion and Program Planning from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NY. He has years of collective experience in public health intervention, working for NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in Hepatitis prevention and outreach, and research coordination in Mount Sinai Health for cardiovascular clinical trials. Shao is now pursuing MBA in non-profit management and plus.

Alison is a Clinical Research Quality Analyst with ACMT. Alison received her MPH in Epidemiology from the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. She has been an epidemiologist for three years working in infectious disease and chronic disease with experience in case investigation, disease surveillance, database creation, data analytics, and more recently was a COVID-19 first responder. She has contributed to a number of public health projects in the fields of: Maternal and Child Health, Cancer, HIV, Oral Health, Smoking Cessation, and COVID-19.

Alison has worked in clinical research as well, working with private pharmaceuticals in Phase I and Phase II oncology clinical trials throughout the U.S. and Europe. Originally from Savannah, Georgia she now resides in Cape Coral, FL with her family and dogs.

Princess Murchison joined ACMT in March 2022, as a ToxiC Data Quality Analyst. She has experience in data analysis, data extractions, data collection, and visual presentations.

Princess has an Associate of Science in Business from Dallas College and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health with a minor in International Relations from Austin College. In her free time, she attends concerts, explores trails, goes to museums, and looks for new dishes to cook. 

Tracy is a senior public health professional and worked at the national level for over a decade at the American Public Health Association and the Center for the Advancement of Health. In addition to her work with ACMT, Tracy is an independent consultant and supports public health clients advance their goals. Tracy has a BS in Toxicology from Northeastern University, an MPH from Tulane University, is a certified Toastmaster, and a graduate of CDC’s Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute.
